Central London can be divided into a few parts namely Southwark, Westminster, Soho, Paddington, Knightsbridge, Bloomsbury and others. And each of these parts have unique characteristics which made London a place in which you can come again and again to visit other areas which you have yet to visit.
My flight to London from Singapore is via British Airways which took 13 hours. Food was good however the entertainment was rather mediocre. For such long journeys I expected much more. Suffice to say there was not many options for you to view. A reason that I could rationalize is the fact that this is a night flight in which the airline gathered that the customers would be mostly sleeping.
Upon reaching at Heathrow, you will have 3 options to get to Central London. Via the tube (free if you purchase the travelcards otherwise its 4 pounds) or Heathrow Connect (cost 7.5 pounds) and Heathrow Express (cost 16.5 pounds). The difference between the Connect vs the Express is the fact that the Express ones will not stop at any other stations and will take you 15 minutes to reach Paddington Station.
From Paddington you can pretty much go anywhere in Central London via the tube. Remember to travel via the tube its better to buy an Oyster Card(just touch and go) and top it up with a Travelcard (there are 1, 3 and 7 days options for you to choose). If you had purchased a Londonpass (read my older post) then it should come with a paper Travelcard then there is no need to buy an Oyster card anymore.
